Spiff...my experience at SNA was similar to yours this morning. I did not take my shoes off and had no problems. In fact it appeared that the lady I spoke with had actually read the directive as she told me that they would not force anyone to take off shoes for liability reasons and that they are really only required to do that if the soles are over 1.5 inches thick.

Nice to have a positive experience. Now we'll see what ORD is like???
