I don't hold screeners responsible for all the inconvenience and idiocy but I do think you have a voice in the matter. I can also understand your reluctance to voice your opinions.

Federalizing security was a bad, bad mistake and we are now suffering the consequences.

As a citizen of this country, I am ready to take respnisbility for my own safety.

I can't speak for down there, but up here, YOU, the passenger, have a much bigger say in how things are run than we, the screeners, do. We have some very vocal screeners who are always trying to get common sense changes put in place, but the only time something actually changes is when either the TSA wants it to change (because we always follow TSA's lead) or a passenger somewhere has made a really big fuss about something. And I don't mean fuss as in incident at a point; I mean letters and politician/regulator contact.
