Nah, I'd say about 10-15% of the people I work with are point nazis... however, they make their presence felt by intervening quickly into other screeners' dealings which makes it feel more like 30%. If a point leader or supervisor is a nazi then it can feel like 50% or more because they rush into enforce trivial or non-existent rules in a heartbeat.
If I have a person ask for a handcheck on film I have to be very sneaky because there is another screener as well as a point-leader who will argue and argue with the passenger that their film must go through the x-ray and that it is safe. So not only is there no consistency from airport to airport, there is often no consistency on one point from screener to screener. That's what poor leadership, crappy hiring practices and mushy, goofy directives do to an organization.</font>
