OK, valid reply for 3h delay. Low let's imagine that you do not have a connection, but rather it is flight home on Sunday morning, so you do not need hotel either. To continue the story - the flight which was going to leave at 8AM leaves at 8PM instead and it is 2h flight. During all this 12h you have been staying in airport and had one meal.

What would be 'damages' then? Insurance company can argue that you did not miss work, you have not been forced to take taxi and your only expense is $20 spent on meal. Would they be correct?
