In relation to OT4: The red boarding passes are used for Business and Sky Priority and the Green ones for everything else. Normally the regular Sky Priority desks all have the red ones but sometimes they run out (or at LHR they just can't be bothered to load them in the first place) and print them on the green anyway. It seems in the lounge they only ever use the red ones.
