I would expect the opposite to be true in some cases. At least in the US, in large retail chains, things like sales of extended warranties in appliance and electronics stores, or tire warranties in a tire store, are closely tracked by the POS system, and reported on by employee, shift, and manager on duty. If the sales numbers for the warranties drop below par for any of the metrics measured, someone gets on their case. The employees may say with a straight face that "I don't get a commission on the warranty" but their raises, promotion, and in some cases continued employment are dependent on acceptable numbers.

It would not surprise me to see a big retailer use similar tactics to track DCC percentages. The bigger the retailer, the more economy of scale they have to put in the tracking technology, and the more management they might have to use the data.
