The flight has been ticketed and you have the CX record locator? Once in the booking you have to check the button for seat selection and the passnger, then it should open up the map. I was able to select seats on an AA award three weeks ago.

2A and 2K are blocked for bassinet / disabled seating. Calling Hong Kong will normally get those released (if available), with a reminder that if the seats are needed by an eligible passenger, you could be moved.

Just call the general reservations number for hong kong and follow the prompts... IIRC something like 'existing booking' (I had to call them multiple times due to flight delays - the 'call maze' was very simple). If you make a mistake it probably doesn't matter - whoever answers will be able to assist you or put you through.
Of course I have CX PNR. AS reservation shows CX PNR in the ticket details, unlike AA that you need to get it from the agent due to AA's antiquated stupid system.
When inside Manage My Booking, the Seat and other Service button simply does NOT respond - you can click it but it would turn to black and show the seat you are assigned - which remains unchanged from last time. However there is NO WAY on the Whole Screen that I could ever get to the seat map itself! Using FF, have not tried another other browser yet.

I know 2A/2K are bassinet seats. I specifically asked the CX agent if the seat was blocked (as bassinet seat) because we all know they could give it to you with the usual cautionary statement. The guy insisted it was already taken. That was in January for Aug/Sept flights. Though in our 7 or 8 times in CX F TPAC we have never seen a baby in the F cabin. Luckily not even kids either.

IIRC the phone system can throw you in a loop when you choose the wrong option. Actually there is NO good option to choose from the existing booking because none of the selections fit to partner awards, nor with the CX e-Ticket number. I should have taken care of this when we were in HKG the whole second week of June, but I totally forgot this matter until now when I need to tend to the details of the next trip.
