Prior to central security (for non-Schengen) there was a "private" immigration flow from the lounge to non-Schengen that "dumped" you from the lounge right near pier D. This was super convenient. But, back then, you needed to clear security prior to boarding your flight (non-Schengen). Now, you just exit the lounge and proceed up the escalators (using the priority flow) which is right near the lounge entrance/exit (for non-Schengen).
It's a nice lounge. The food and beverage is fine. But, I prefer to clear security (Schengen or non-Schengen) and get maximum time in the lounge (prior to my flight); instead of having to "time" leaving the lounge and then clearing security. I tend to use the KLM lounge (even when flying on BA) or the Aspire lounge (on arrival, non-Schengen).
KLM let you use their lounge even if not flying with KLM - nice. Does that apply to those with star alliance status match?
