Sorry, bad phrasing. Schiphol has a low-cost pier which basically has almost no facilities, no jetways, etc, etc, so that the LCCs can get a reduced rate. It's next to the G-pier, which is in the non-Schengen zone, so is H. But that means that access between it an the main departure lounge is non-Schengen.
So, for Schengen flights, there is M-pier. This is a segregated part of H-pier (that is not subject to immigration control). But that means that you have no access to the main departures hall, only the landside facilities (which, admittedly, are rather good at Schiphol - just head down to Schiphol Plaza near the railway station). You just need to make sure you are there in time to clear security.
So personally, I'd have that as another tick in the box for OS.
