I'm an American, living in Seattle, and I'll be taking a trip to Japan soon. I'd like to bring back some sake and Japanese whiskey, but my return flight is to Vancouver, BC, and then I'm taking Amtrak home to Seattle the next day.

Does anyone know if I will be subject to the Canadian limits on alcohol (and more importantly, the exorbitant BC duties (over 100%!) on alcohol over the duty-free exemption)?

I suspect the answer is yes, but I couldn't find any definitive answers.
