Overall I reckon Privium is merely nice 85% of the time and saves my bacon 15% of the time. There are occasional (rarer now than in the past, but still occasional) very long queues for something that mean that cutting the timings fine on arrival to the airport then risks missing a flight. Or conversely, an arrival tightly timed to make a meeting can be undermined by a long passport queue.

I go to AMS a lot and I reckon it's great. I charge it to my company also, on the basis that it means I can spend more time working instead of needing to arrive earlier at the airport.

I don't bother to pay for the lounge (extra €70 or so) because the lounge is outside security, making it mostly pointless.

The longest queues I skip are on arrival. Sometimes it's easily 30 people deep at all manned booths and e-gates, and 0 at the Privium point. I honestly can't remember when I last had anyone in front of me at a Privium immigration machine, it wasn't this year at least. You're easily talking 15 minutes saved in that case.

From a privacy point of view it's done right, too: the iris scan is stored in the card, not in a central database.

In theory you need to make an appointment but in practice I've never had any trouble showing up at the Privium service desk and been served almost immediately for card renewal, new passport, etc.
