Most people overthink this, either too simple or complicated.

Ask yourself this:

1. Domestic/International?
2. Your current location?
3. Specific travel plan, if any?

It is not about applying and getting whatever bonus you can get.

It is about applying and getting bonuses you can use.

For example, applying for a DL AMEX card may be a good idea if you live near MSP. But it definitely needs some justifications if you live near ORD.

The so-called planning nowadays is more about self-control.
