This letter was from Delta? Sounds more like an unclaimed property locator found something they think belongs to you and are willing to facilitate its return to you for a percentage. I'd start here first: https://www.unclaimed.org/

Many states let you search for unclaimed property by name, so I'd begin with that and see if you turn anything up.

My fee for this advice is only 10% of the value of your outstanding assets.
