Letter regarding an "outstanding asset" with DL

Ok, I thought I'd seen everything, but this is a new one and I can't find any mention of it here after searching for "outstanding asset" or "Ryan, LLC".

I got a letter in the mail today from Delta. It says:

Dear owner: Our records show that you have an outstanding asset that remains unclaimed. There are many factors that may have contributed to your outstanding asset remaining unclaimed, such as a return of information mailed to your address of record by the US postal service. The amount of your outstanding asset that remains unclaimed is indicated on the enclosed Claim Form.

[...]

Ryan, LLC has now been retained by Delta to assist you in claiming the asset due you, through this voluntary program.

[...]

If you choose to participate in this program, a service fee of 15% of the value of your outstanding asset will be deducted from your proceeds and paid to Ryan, LLC.

Please read this notification carefully. The outstanding asset to which you are due cannot be sent to you until you claim your assets either through this voluntary program or by other available means.
Apparently they have $796.16 of mine that I'm due. Whaaaa?

So, anyone else heard of this before? I don't want to pay Ryan, LLC, 15% of the proceeds. Can I just contact Delta directly and have them send me a cheque? Is that the "other available means"?

Neil
