I was actually there with you on Saturday (DL65). Yes, quite a bizarre setup with they typical madhouse at the gate. You forgot to mention walking down a set of service stairs to the Alitalia lounge. The lounge was so crowded that people were sitting on the floor near me.
At least the lounge has been repainted in the last few years. The walls used to be shades of bright green.

Did you not use one of the elevators to access the lounge? There were three of them -- I'm used to only a single elevator to access a lounge on a different floor from the main concourse, but then again, there was another lounge on that floor.
