For some (many?) out stations you are required to purchase tickets online a number of days in advance. The number of days varies according to origin, destination and sometimes ticketing class. I have seen between 3 and 8 days but some are suggesting just hours from some origins.

TAs, OTAs and QRs own ticketing centres have a different set of rules.
