The quest for perfection can be the enemy of really good. I'm one who is critical of the multilevels in the Nam Hai room, yet I loved staying a quiet beach area with great access to Hoi An. There's a lot of do in Hoi An, and it was wonderful to leave the heat and grime of the town and return to the beautiful Nam Hai with its lovely beach.
Should you change your mind and go to Amanoi, give your wife to be a couple days in Nha Trang at the beach front junior suite at Evason Mandara. There's lots of great shopping, cheap massage and some sightseeing in Nha Trang. Your average room rate will drop and she will have the fun of a busy Vietnamese town.

Indeed, I do agree with you but FT made me even more of a perfectionist. Can be annoying at times
