Hey, don't knock it till you try it. A united.com search for LAX-MLE offers me TK-marketed, TK-operated flights just fine.
I do this fairly often to buy LHR-IST on TK. It saves the €10 booking fee TK charges to book the same flights with the same fares on their own web site [ yes - they publish a ten euro booking fee for flights originating a country that denominates its currency in the pound and traveling to a country that denominates its currency in the lira ], and I don't mind the 016 stock. It's actually kind of nice (if admittedly a bit baffling) to have UA as my travel agent.
