It will be more expensive than Oasia Novena (which is leading our current choices for our SIN stay in November). How is the neighborhood in terms of walking options, places to eat for breakfast or dinner?
(I know the MRT is across the street, not in the basement as with Novena, but I think it's close enough to be weighted equally in our decision matrix

) My water-obsessed husband thinks he likes that it's walking distance to the marina area (and I guess the Gardens By the Bay too?)
We're there for 5 days and will be taking the metro all over, I'm sure, so I'm not worried about walking everywhere (not possible!) Just wanting to know if it's "Downtown" as in - all business and everyone leaves at 6pm? like it is in some neighborhoods in NYC....Thanks!
Hi there, I stayed in Oasia Hotel Downtown sometime in May.let me try to answer some of your queries
Food: There are a lot of food options nearby.Just behind the hotel there is a local food center cum market, there is a mall nearby(100AM with a food court inside and quite a bit of food outlets), lots of Japanese and Korean cuisine around the area as well
The MRT station is very very near just walk across the street and you are at the MRT station. Yes you can walk to Marina Bay/Marina Bay Sands (around 2km) or just hop on the MRT(Bayfront station to Gardens by the bay and Marina Bay sands)
The area where the hotel is located is called Tanjong Pagar more of a housing area, and a neighborhood although a few minutes away are where the tall highrise office towers are located.I would say the area is not too bad
