Taxi to the airport was a disappointing note to end the stay on, with the driver refusing to use the meter and charging the flat fare IDR 150K that you pay from the airport. The taxi was sourced by the hotel (called by the Grand Club upon checkout) and was from the Bali Taxi company rather than Blue Bird as is per normal.

Emailed the hotel after the stay and the Executive Assistant Manager said he's spoken to the taxi companies and driver involved so let's hope it was a one-off.
I always ask for a metered taxi. I recall that they've tried this on me before here. I'm sure that an employee is getting something from the taxi company.

I'd mention it in a Tripadvisor review, and ding them for it. That's the only way to get their attention.

You can get a cheap sim card with data at the airport, although it might be more trouble than it is worth to order an Uber. We paid about half what the ripoff taxi counter was charging.
