We will be flying business class roundtrip from nyc to bali on Emirates with an overnight layover in dubai and I'm some people can help answer these luggage questions as I couldn't find the answer online.

1) I understand we could check through our bags to the final destination. Does this mean we don't have to collect them going through customs or to leave the airport for 12 hours?

2) I saw on emirates website that they have a baggage delivery service for anywhere in UAE. Anyone know if it would be possible to use this so we could drop off our carry-on luggage so they'd send it to our Emirates arranged hotel so we could go straight into the city?
- The reason I ask is that we are arriving around 8:30pm and have never been out in Dubai and are hoping to expedite our airport exit and getting downtown for a late dinner.
