If you're trying to use regular free days, I can't see why they wouldn't be able to be redeemed. I've found that non-airport locations play by their own rules, and this may be a situation where that's the case.
1-2-Free days are definitely valid for up to Full Size. The web site may give problems trying to apply it, but if you make your reservation, save it... you could change to a full size after.
