Routing via HKG on either AA or CX violates AA's award routing rules--one can't travel from the US to Asia 1 (ICN) via Asia 2 (HKG). I suppose it wouldn't hurt to ask and/or HUCA with a couple of agents and be clear that you are seeking reaccommodation from downgraded F, but I doubt this will work. Alternative AA metal flights to Asia that have F are LAX-NRT and one of the two DFW-NRT services, I believe. From there you can connect on JL to ICN--on the condition that partner availability is showing, of course. Alternatively, you could seek out JL F seats on the TPAC, but two F awards on JL are hard to come by.
