While staying at Le Grand Hotel Intercontinental Paris recently, our room was vandalized and many of our possessions were stolen. Yes we used the room safe for our important documents, money and jewelry. The management came to our room saw the pilfered luggage and receipts for our recent purchases. The hotel security director was out of town at the time so his investigation was conducted days later after we had returned home. The French police, needless to say were not to happy to see two Americans asking for help. Long story short, over a week later the hotel could find nothing "unusual" in their inverstigation, although it was recorded that a hotel employee had entered our locked room several times during the day. Has anybody else had a similar experience with the Intercontinental Hotel Group? What can we do? At the time of reporting the theft, we demanded that the hotel file a claim for our stolen valuables which they stonewalled until we were gone. Any suggestions?
