I wrote to CX and ask them about it and the response wasn't much of one, simply stating that they would review the service. I just felt that CX is cutting corners everywhere that they are now starting to look like an LCC. Earlier in the year, I flew JL to HND and it was miles better than CX in terms of seat comfort, meals and service.
CX servive has become really pathetic. As you mention the service level is getting very close to LCCs.
