My suggestion would be the Pangkor Laut Resort. I don't think you can golf there though.
We stayed at the Pan Pacific Resort on Pangkor which is very nice and on a quiet stretch of beach but not really luxurious.
I haven't heard anything negative about The Datai on Langkawi. As far as I know, you can play golf there.
As for KL, I really liked the SI. It's not very central but right next to a train station. And the rooms and the spa are very nice.
