And BTW, the freedom 5% back is extended to end of year with new max of $1500 case back each quarter according the Chase forum here. So james you could get $1000 gift card this month and have another $1500 ready to go in July.
I forgot about the Costco guarantee. Hopefully it applies in this case as well, even though I'm not expecting any problems with it.
I thought about doing that with the Visa. The last day they are there is the 19th and I was thinking of buying a gift card between the 20th and end of the month for $1k with my visa and going in on July 1 and asking for cash back if I pay with a check or cash and having the sale rerang using the gift card and visa. Not sure what Costco's policy is on using a gift card on a prior sale.
