So? It is a feature, not really an advantage per se.
Beside, taking Chase's little sideshow as an example, if one of your card can earn more reward than your Citi Costco Visa, do you really mind bringing another plastic out?

Beside - the main issue of this card is its position as a Costco card. I live in an area with Costco's strong presence. Surprisingly, I rarely see people using the AMEX Costco card outside Costco (IMHO - the current card CB ratio is not bad). People got AMEX Costco because Costco only accepted AMEX, so they got the card. Now, Costco accepts a card network that almost everyone has at least one. Why bother another card?
I understand your position about the attractive CB. But unfortunately, Costco credit card is not all reward at all.
