Did you try the Flagship lounge or the Admirals Club?

The former won't let you in as Silver - but AA will be introducing from 2017 a new policy of allowing those travelling on international long-haul J into the Flagship lounges, so that may in future be a correct reason to deny you there, but isn't relevant now.

The Admirals Club should let you in. However, they have no hot food.
