This is AC we are talking about... if you are in Y, they dont care.
Same reason why Cathay has cup holder in their backseat but AC does not.. certain airlines care about its brand, culture and values... most airlines don't.


The reality is that, if you want AC to even start considering those features, fly on other airlines as much as possible, otherwise, as long as they are filling up the cabin(even with horrible yields on most of their HD international routes), there is no incentive to do any thing about it.

In accounting one of the first thing we learn is
IF Incremental Cost > Incremental Revenue = No
If Incremental Revenue > Incremental Cost = Yes
