Wow...that is a strong statement. I feel the need to offer a diff't opinion.

The RC is an excellent resort IMO. The only reason it gets a lower ranking than the FS properites in most publications is that 100% of the FS folks stay in villas, while only 20% of RC people do.

And, btw...the RC Villas have a slight edge over the FS Villas b/c of the wonderful outdoor thatched roof private pillow beds in each villa.

The service at the RC was also noticeably better than the FS. Everyone knew my name and preferences. The FS staff were too busy telling me why their hotels were better than the RC to give me good service. The FS folks seemed obsessed with the RC and trying to put it down. That really turned me off to the FS people...it was simply unprofessional. The RC folks were actually excited for us that we were headed to the FS knowing that it was also a fine resort.

The spa, the main pools and the incredible aquatonic pool at the RC are amazing too (with great prices to boot). Why are there no aquatonic pools in the US?

Just keep in mind that the RC is a resort in the style of the RC Naples (big with loads of amenities facilities, and restuarants), not the FS Maldives (tiny and secluded).

Dont get me wrong...I loved the RC and the FS Sayan on Bali. Both are wonderful...just different from one another. One is an incredible secluded get away while the other is an action packed resort that blows away any US mega-resort I have have been to in amenities and value.
