Does day of week matter as far as crowds? My wife and I will be passing through on a Saturday in September, and it would be nice to be able to get a shower.
I was there on Saturday afternoon, 3pm - 8pm 2 weeks ago. Total zoo the entire 5 hours. Felt more like a loud, busy night club than an airport lounge. Not even worth entering. I waited in line 20 minutes at the C120 club just to get in. Then the bathrooms had 5 deep line to get in for men's, about the same for women's. Food was non-existent when I was there. Worst crowding I have seen at any United Club, save for the SFO newer E-gate lounge which was way undersized when it opened just 6 months ago.
Do not expect to find a group of 2 seats together in the EWR UCs. In my view, the EWR UCs are not worth even going in to. Stay in the gate area. It will be much calmer and more relaxing.
