Thinking about the Orient. I am tempted also by their day boat trip up/down the River (haven't done my map homework yet) to Ayutthaya on the Oriental Queen boat. (Thoughts anyone?)
You're right - the Regent isn't in there, though highly touted by some Ft'ers here. Or
do I want to take advantage of my Hyatt Diamond status and bunk at the Grand Hyatt?

Question: is there a 'luxury hotel' guide out there? I usually cobble together my info from the various hotel rags: AMEX PTS preferred properties; LHW book; Orient-Express; the front part of the Starwood book, etc. But's it is so tedious to comb through the sales rhetoric. Obviously mainstream guides like Frommer's which are useful for general touring are not what I need.
Although, maybe I should skip over the hotels mentioned in the book, by virtue of them being listed perhaps that makes them less "desireable" ... </font>
You'll definitely love staying at the Peninsula Bangkok. Maybe it was my bad luck but my accommodations had mechanical problems with the lights and curtains. Otherwise, the service was excellent. Sorry guys. :-)
