I just ended a five day stay at the Ritz in Montreal and I am sorry to say that the hotel is really poor. The staff was great, but no matter how hard they try and can't make up for a hotel that hasn't seen a good renovation since Truman was in office and it shows.

The guest rooms are dark, not updated and the bath rooms are even worse. Yes, they are clean, but at a RC property would expect more than a 6-8 Travel Inn.

The hotel has one bar and the wine choice by the class is minimal. One red, one white wine and that is it. I'm told they don't get much call for upscale wines. What they are offering is just one step up from wine out of a box.

This hotel needs to be shut down for a multi-million dollar renovation. It is a sad excuse for a RC and is not even in the same league with RC's in New York, SF or HKG where I have been in the last several months.

I'm sorry to be so hard on this hotel but it drags the other excellent RC hotels down.
