When we redid our master bath, we had a shower built that does not have a door. We get a little water on the tiled floor but not even enough to worry about mopping up. Of course this assumes that you haven't angled the shower head towards the "door"
The shower is actually wide and long enough that we would really have to work at pointing the shower head at the "door." I think it helps that our shower head is nice and high, so we are able to point it in a downward direction.
