I'm surprised you check a suit carrier in. I would expect it to be mangled unless it's somehow heavy duty. I'd have also thought a suit would be much too valuable to risk in the hold, not just its monetary value but the fact that you probably want it in one piece (OK, two pieces) to wear to your meeting.
