With only 6 days in Pairs and one trip already to Versailles, I would not spend an additional day in a tour bus just for a quick view of Mont St Michel.
I'm tossing up between visiting the Loire Valley, Bordeaux and Lyon regions. I want to spend a few days at least on the French Riviera before moving into Italy, so I don't think I can reasonably do all three.
If you have two weeks in France, I might suggest a week in Paris, 2 to 3 days in maybe either the Loire Valley or Burgundy (Dijon or Beaune) and the remainder of the time in Nice. You can easily visit a lot of the surrounding areas by train from Nice.
Is it really possible to get around the Loire Valley based in Orleans by public transport?
If you want to visit the Loire Valley without a car, only consider Tours and only stay in the area broadly defined as between Place Plumereau (Old Tours) and the train station, Tours Centre. Other areas in Tours are not interesting for tourists.
