I am travelling in Scandinavia, and find it hilarious that people loke to complain, but have this look of delight, when they talk about how expensive things are. Sweden is cheap relative to Norway (where I was just before), but the receptionist in Sweden seems to not want to admit that and wants to emphasize how expensive Sweden is.
It feels like a matter of pride. Why? It sucks if you live in an expensive place.
