That is not usually possible with a ticket booked through a corporate TA where there is a corporate discount involved. Part of that deal is that all ticketing is handled by the corporate TA. If you want the carrier to take over ticketing, you pay a fee.
That is actually the case for all TA-issued tickets, it is simply not enforced for up-faring.
^ Technically the $50 (!) external reservations handling fee is not waived for upfaring to a higher cabin, although the change fee is.
