Interesting to see people quoting percentage of income tolerences. We net about 15% less than the OP but spend about 25% of income on travel each year
About 65% of that will go on premium tickets (cheapest available within reason, no thought given to reward programs unless there is a dead heat on price and quality).
Like most I 'could afford it' but would I want to pay it when cheaper options are available? No of course not. My travel is not usually time constrained so it is a no brainer for me to fly with the ME3 who are generally cheaper, and provide a
slightly better product. IMO of course.
Reading it in black and white, 25% does seem like an excessive amount of income to spend.
