Pickles--You named three that would have made the cut had I been able to go beyond 10. But,o.k. here are another 5 of my personal favorites, which rank with the others I mentioned.

Copacabana Beach, Rio
Okura, Tokyo
Tawaraya, Kyoto
Colombe d'or, St. Paul de Vence
--using guidelines suggested by Number_(no hotels in the same city) I will refrain from mentioning
Crillon (along with Bristol in Paris)
Four Seasons Hualali (along with Kona Village)
