There are so many new hotels in Glasgow now I imagine the existing ones now realise that they have to spend some cash. The CP was sold last year so it definitely looks like the owners have opened the chequebook. The old Thistle Hotel in the city centre is currently being converted to a Doubletree and it's to have a lounge so that can probably be added to the upscale options in the city as well.

One thing I noticed from the picture is that is definitely new AC controls so hopefully the old system has been either been completely overhauled or replaced.

Now if they could move the lounge downstairs (ala Hilton) and put some new Tarmac down in the car park I would be very happy.
