I wouldnt say the westin is a long subway ride from tourist spots, but it does take about 12 minutes to walk to the subway station (JR Ebisu station).

If you have the coin, I would stay at the westin (abt 300USD per night, whereas Sheraton starts at 150).

Westin of course is furnished in traditional style, but looks modern and well kept. If you cant get a suite upgrade, ask for a corner deluxe room (like a junior suite).
