One earns points, one earns cash back. Cashback with my old Platinum Cash card is directly applied to the monthly bill.

I am wondering now if my card gives me 3% back on grocery purchases, when I got the card it only offered 5% at the pump.
Anyone know what a Penfed point is worth? Their website makes no mention of separation of reward types by cash-back vs. applying to travel.
