Well Yahillwe I guess I'll be the exception that breaks the rule then. I'll pay for CW or F in a sale and even when it isn't in sale if the prices aren't killing me. However my route is LHR-BOS (connecting to ACK) and there aren't many direct options on that route namely BA, VS, or DL. The VS and DL timings don't work for me (Plus there's only one flight each/day) and I don't like the foot coffin on DL. I can't fly via JFK because there is only one flight a day in season to ACK direct, miss that and you have to fly via BOS. I don't want and can afford not to fly in the back of the plane anymore so that's WT/WT+ ruled out. I will use a UUA where possible and RFS when travelling in Europe to try and make a dent in the nearly half a million Avios I have.

I can't travel Ex-EU for a number of reasons (ask me at a Do sometime) and so I'm left with the option of either stumping up 20k Avios (UUA) 100k Avios (redemption) or £2.2k CW/£2.6K F for a flight (sale prices). As I will often have to go into work directly after a TATL the flat bed is a godsend. The fact that I can recline after takeoff and sleep until 40mins to landing means I can manage quite a reasonable amount of sleep (for me). So if you wanted someone who can afford the J/F fares then I'm your man. I'm single, have a reasonable income, mostly debt and child free so not burdened in that way financially. I am probably not a typical BA premium passenger though (as noted above).
