I think the rooms at the R-C Chicago are generally prettier than at the Four Seasons, which are kind of bland. I am, however, offended that they impose a charge for using the gym, which is in my view inappropriate at a hotel of that caliber. (Actually, it's now been so long since I've stayed at the Four Seasons that I don't recall what the gym situation is there.) I quite liked the Peninsula, though I agree the public spaces are a bit cold.
