11 killed in van accident on inbound motorway

Eleven helpless passengers were killed after they were trapped in a passenger van that overturned and caught fire on the Bangkok-bound motorway in Chon Buri's Mueang district Friday night.

Initially, resescuers of the Trikhunnatham Foundation in Chon Buri said nine people were killed but the Disaster Mitigation and Prevention Department of the Interior Ministry later issued a statement that 11 people were killed in the blaze.

The department said in a statement that four people were injured. The rescuers told police that only four people could come out of the van before it caught fire.
