Since you do not foresee being a regular AA flyer, you can:
Donate miles for charity, http://hub.aa.com/en/ju/donate?ancho...L&title=donate

Redeem miles for magazine subscription

Redeem miles for a one day auto rental, though not sure is 2500 is enough, have not tried

Do not worry about it and let it expire after 18 months of inactivity.

Not sure if others can come with other suggestions, but I think that is pretty much all options you have with minimal AA miles. This is not limited to AA, it pretty much is the same for UA, DL.
