The South African tour agencies are very expensive $$$ when doing tours to Swaziland & Kruger Park.

I have been negotiating with a number of different South African tour agencies, and the price per person ranges from R 9,400 to R 12,000, that is crazy.

According to Google Maps, the drive from Pretoria to Mantenga Lodge is 3 hours & 45 minutes, the drive from Mantenga Lodge to Crocodile Kruger Safari Lodge is 2 hours & 45 minutes, and the drive from Crocodile Kruger Safari Lodge to JNB airport is 4 hours & 15 minutes.

So I have reserved:
- Hertz car for $125-US
- reserved 1-night at the Mantenga Lodge in Swaziland with two rooms for $90-US
- two nights just outside of Kruger Park with two rooms at the Crocodile Kruger Safari Lodge for $180.

So instead of paying the cheapest South African tour agency I could find $2,480-US, I am spending $395.

I have justified my savings by doing the driving. Everything I have read indicates the driving and road conditions are very good on the roads I will be driving on from Pretoria to Mantenga Lodge in Swaziland to Crocodile Kruger Safari Lodge to JNB airport.

Any thoughts or suggestions?
