They can do almost whatever you want when you happen to have a good agent.^
But when nasty, they won't
I have some bad examples where I lost bunch of points even if I should have got them back
which I am still mad about at them and moved bunch of flights to SAS side
Also if Y cabin happens to be full at the time of you cancelling a points upgrade, they will not let you back to Y cabin due to lack of space (how about that
